Los Angeles Swans vs Beachside Sharks
LA came into this game looking to build on their momentum from last week. In only their second game as a club, the Sharks were looking to pull an upset. Early on the competition was fierce. Every loose ball seemed to have players from both sides fighting for it. The teams were trading goals in the early going, with Beachside matching the Swans intensity. Paul Lindley of the Sharks was a standout early, as his team ran much of their of their offensive attack through him. As the first quarter ended, the Sharks found themselves down less than two goals.
The second quarter would see the Swans attack with more authority. Colter Alison was moved on ball early on and quickly made his presence known. Grabbing contested balls with his usual enthusiasm, Colter, Andy Lindsey and Janni Mirosevich began to make the middle of the field theirs. The result would give the Swans a significant halftime lead.
The second half saw a Sharks team determined to go down fighting. With a new plan of attack, led by Chris Olson and Frederick Shulin, Beachside fought hard to mount a comeback. The Swans, however, would not allow it. New recruit Victor Pico, moved to the forward line for the first time, made a strong impression by finding space and making himself available to passes from captain Steve Cliff. This game would see Vic kick the first four goals of his young career.
By the time the fourth quarter came around, the Swans began to really run away with it. Janni and Colter continued their offensive attack, resulting in a major victory for the Swans.
